Abstract
Total 37 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly assigned to control or two treated groups.
They were underwent bilateral division and immediate microsurgical anastomosis of the oviducts. The injuries were made as standard as possible for each animal. In the control .group, saline was intraperitoneally infused-to 17 rabbits. In the two treated groups, dextran andmixeddextran-dexamethasone promethazine were administrated to either 10 rabbits, intraperitoneally. The animals were killed 2 weeks postoperatively and the extent of adhesion was evaluated grossly and microscopically: Mortality were encountered two in control group and one in treated group. Dextran does not appear to inhibit the formation of significant adhesion as compared with adhesion formation in untreated control animals, and the results seemed as ineffective as in the mixed dextran-promethazine dexamethasone treated group. Futher studies should be performed to determine the most effective other medication and new trial.
